“Caminito” has become one of the most representative attractions of Buenos Aires. It’s the place that the tourists prefer when they visit the city. The main and more notorious characteristic of this neighborhood is the color. That is because it is a harbor neighborhood and the people used paint the houses with the painting that exceeded when they painted a ship, therefore, each house can have different colors.
There are no doors in “Caminito”, only some windows, some balconies full of plants and hanging clothes. Its walls painted of different colors recall us to Venice. In them there are all types of mural, ceramics and different decorations. In the beginning it was simply a branch of the Railroad, full of land, some plants and stones. It was called “the curve”, the one that then became a path that shortened distances. That was the famous "Caminito" by the one that traveled daily Juan de Dios Filiberto, who then wrote the tango that carries his name. The initiative to put that name to the street arose nothing less than of his friend Benito Quinquela Martin. Today it is a not only a tourist street visited by the foreigners, but by argentines of all the country, proud of place so picturesque.
