This part of the city was created because of the restoration of the old docks, from the old Buenos Aires port. Because it’s very near down town, it quickly became a very touristic place. The 16 buildings by the river have a lot of very nice restaurants and companies.
This beautiful part of the city has a lot to offer making it a very interesting place to enjoy either at night or during the day. Along a pedestrian walk in front of the channel that flanks the buildings, the complex of movies Cinemark, many restaurants and pubs of various prices are some of the most visited places.
The historic circuit includes the visit of the two floating museums: the “Corveta Uruguay” and the “Fragata Sarmiento”, the old Great Hotel, point of disembarkation of millions of immigrants. Crossing the Docks of the port and on the banks of the “De la Plata”River, the “Costanera Sur” is the walk chosen by the lovers of the nature. In this corner, it’s the ecological reserve of unique characteristics in the city of Buenos Aires. Its 350 protected hectares, since 1986, full numerous species of the flora and the typical fauna of the prairie and of the delta of the Paraná.
The creation of this new neighborhood is one of the greater meaning proposals urban developments in the history of the city and of its inhabitants.
