Information about Chilecito

Its foundation dates from 1715, by the master Sergeant Don Domingo Castro y Bazan. At present, the agricultural exploitation occupies its greater income, with the cultivations of wines, olives and nuts. It shows two heraldries. One dates from of the century 18/19 when was a very important shopping center. By its attraction, so many came since the other side of the mountain range that the town took the name of Chilecito. Is known like the Rioja capital of the tourism. Its climate is very pleasant and their insurmountable location at the foot of the “Nevado” attracts great quantity of tourists that take advantage of the infrastructure and the extensive range of excursions that from there can be carried out.
