Information about Malargüe

Malargüe, capital of the department of the same name, is in the southwest of the province of Mendoza. It is situated in a zone where there was pour of lava that contributed to the formation of the inhospitable Payún.
It has an area of irrigation and is found in a mining district of importance, since in the department of Malargüe petroleum in the basin is exploited of Llancanelo and uranium in the mine Huemul; this last one is processed locally in a plant. From Malargüe you can get to “Las Leñas” International Ski Resort. The various possibilities that offers for the tourism the mountainous landscape, the glaciers, the streams, the rivers and the gaps they have this city to be baptized as the ‘capital of the adventure tourism'.
