Information about Villa de Merlo

Located in the northeast end of the province of San Luis, on the western skirt of the Mountain range of Comechingones, (natural limit with the province of Córdoba), Villa de Merlo stands out by the Valley of Concarán, which is appreciable thanks to the difference between the 850 mts on the level of the sea, in which is the urban helmet, and the 1280 mts maximum of height. Within the province, this city is distinguished of the rest by its climatic characteristics (has its own microclimate) and geographic ones, due to its natural mountainous relief. Here the tourist activity is oriented mainly towards people who look for natural attractions, tranquillity and rest, whose main activities are the practice of trekking, cavalcades, rappel, parapentism or strolls that allow a panoramic view of the place. On the other hand, it is possible to camp and explore the old left mining facilities, as therefore the fishing of trout or the practice of swimming. The Embalse San Felipe is an ideal place for nautical sports and the fishing of pejerrey, and it is few kilometres away from the locality of Tilisarao, and 45 minutes from Villa de Merlo. For people who prefer a more relaxed tourism, and enjoy the landscape that offers this city, other attractiveness is the amount of streams that go from east to west losing itself soon after entering the valley, which altogether with the gorges, characteristics by its ample exuberant vegetation, offer an incomparable landscape.
