Hot Springs.

Floating and relaxing.

Cold weather has settled. The autumn sun, with its everlasting mist, makes everything look paler. Clothes get heavier as we put layer upon layer of sweaters, scarves and wooly socks. Buenos Aires is active as always, there are so many options and things to do that we can hardly find a gap in our already crowded schedules to have a break. No matter, I invite you to leave the noisy and cold city behind, drop the warm clothes and stress from your body, and submerge in hot and crystalline waters, floating as we let the pure and fresh air from the countryside detoxify our lungs. We are going for a trip to the province of Entre Rios to visit the hot baths.

Colón:
We leave Buenos Aires, and head to Zárate-Brazo Largo (the bridge that connects Buenos Aires province with Entre Rios), we go along Route N°14 and after 330 km on the road we reach Colón, first stop in our journey.
This city is on by the banks of the Uruguay River. It offers lots of possibilities for tourists, from beach strolls, fishing, and quiet lifestyle, to nautical safaris among small islands, sand beds and virgin jungles. Of course you have the hot baths just five minutes away from the city center. There are 10 pools, ranging from 33 to 40°C –three of them are covered- and with all the commodities to spend a great day of pure relaxation and pleasure. They also offer facial treatments, jacuzzies and massages. The water that fills the pools comes from a depth of 1500 meters; it has relaxing properties and official therapeutic effects.

Villa Elisa.
Thirty kilometers along route N° 130 you find Villa Elisa, a quiet city in a rural surrounding. The curious tourist can take a tour on a historic train that reaches the San José Palace, residence of the General Urquiza (Historic hero of the province of Entre Rios) or visit any establishment in the countryside to enjoy a massive barbecue, horse and sulky rides.
The thermal complex, a couple of kilometers away from the city has 7 pools, all with different characteristics and temperatures, covered spaces, underwater seats and hot water gushes, apart from all the necessary services. The salted thermal water flows at 40°C detoxifying ones entire body, leaving your skin soft as a baby’s bottom and benefiting the lungs, activating the metabolism and also has an anti-inflammatory effect. You can combine the baths with long walks, bike rides and nautical activities on an artificial lake of four hectares. There are bungalows available for rent, camping facilities and a hotel… anything you want to stay there.

Concordia.
We go north along route N° 14, we pass the El Palmar National Park, and just 120 km away from Colón and 438 from Bs.As, we reach Concordia. This is a very important city, it is on the Uruguay River, offering a wide range of attractions; among them the hydroelectric dam of Salto Grande. Crossing the international bridge you can visit the city of Salto, already on the Uruguayan side.
Ten minutes away from the city center and five from the Salto Grande Lake, surrounded by tall pines and eucalyptus, you can find the thermal complex “Vertientes de la Concordia”. You can relax in any of the 6 pools –one covered- which range from 36 to 41°C and have mineralized, transparent and sweet waters.
They also offer beauty treatments using special mud, massages and sauna facilities, which purify the body integrally. Like the others, the facilities offer all commodities, as well as recreational activities and the possibility of staying in bungalows, wood cabins or in a hostel.

Federación and Chajarí.
Federación is 478 km away from Buenos Aires. This is the first community in Entre Rios, which enjoyed hot water baths. It has 12 pools, with temperatures ranging from 37 to 41°C, active, passive, for kids, covered, acclimatized… you name it. You also have the option of accessing the spa, which offers thermal mud and all kind of treatments for body and face.
Forty-nine kilometers north from here, nearer to Corrientes Province, we reach Chajarí. This thermal park has 5 modern pools -2 of them covered- hydro-jets and sub aquatic lights. The water flows at 41.3°C and has therapeutic and sedative properties. One of their pools has a waterfall, excellent for a relaxing massage under the power of the water.

On the Paraná River: La Paz.
La Paz is located 526 km away from Bs. As. It is famous for it's fishing facilities. On a terrace overlooking the Paraná River we can find the hot baths. This is a complex with 11 salt water pools of marine origin and strongly mineralized. It flows at 42°C and allows your body and mind to relax as you look at the sunset over the river.
