Cafayate
In pre-Colombian epochs before the discovery and the conquest, the mountainous outskirts of Cafayate were populated by native diaguitas settlements. Approximately in the year 1480 the incas of peru arrived in a first phase, and then in 1535 the Spanish conquerors arrived, being the local aborigines who more fought and they resisted. Humahuaca
The Quebrada of Humahuaca is the natural road to the North, to the Puna. The route skirts the course of the Rio Grande and as the height increases we see the quiet populations which resist the passing of time with their stone and mud walls. The bell tower of some XVII century church stands out among the coloured mountains; in the squares the locals show off their handcrafts. The colours, the silence and those small streets that end at the base of the hills make us feel as if we were in some sort of magical world.

Jujuy
City founded by third and last time April 19, 1593, in its present place, by Francisco de Argañaraz y Murguía. The city known as "The Silver little Cup" is found surrounded by mountains in the triangle that form the “altos herbosos de la Nieva” and the rivers Xibi-Xibi and “Grande”.

San Antonio de los Cobres
San Antonio de los Cobres is located right on the highlands about 150 km. the city of Salta, is a typical village of the Puna of Salta, Nown to be a stop of the Tren a las Nubees (train), which depart from the provincial capital until the viaduct La Polvorilla.
San Antonio is characterized as the large urban center across the country, about 4000 m. height above sea level.
Activities such as hiking in 4 x 4, hiking, horse riding and walks in the valley are some of entertainments most chosen by visitors.

Susques
At only 200 kilometers northwest of San Salvador of Jujuy is found the small and old town of Susques. Surrounded by the rustic and beautiful landscape of La Puna, paradoxical, this locality is one of the humblest of the entire region. In spite of all, the few inhabitants attend warmly to the visitors. It is possible to hire a local to travel through the outskirts. It is worth while to be stopped to observe to the knitting machines (many work in the door of its houses) and to buy some of its products.

Tafí del Valle
Tafi del Valle is the most important tourist center in the province of Tucumán par excellence, combining mountains, rivers and an ideal climate.

Tilcara
This is one of the largest towns of the Quebrada. Visit the Church, the market and the handcraft fare where the local women sell their products. Very near there is Pucará de Tilcara (Pucará: fortified place on a hill) which is partially rebuilt. It is also worth going to the Archaeological Museum.
